PAVRO Mentorship Moments
Administrators and Managers of volunteer programs frequently find themselves working independently in fast paced settings, navigating numerous responsibilities and ever evolving challenges. While many tools and resources exist to support this work, the chance to connect with colleagues in our profession remains one of the most valuable sources of insight, encouragement, and shared learning.
The PAVRO Mentor Program is open to all PAVRO members!
Mentorship Moments are one hour virtual gatherings designed to bring PAVRO members together throughout the year to connect, learn, and build community within the field of volunteer engagement. Offered five to six times annually, these sessions provide a welcoming, informal space where members can network, exchange ideas, explore current trends, and discuss the real world challenges we face in volunteer management.
Each session highlights timely, relevant topics shaped by member interests and emerging issues in our sector. But the heart of Mentorship Moments lies in the collective wisdom of the group—not just in what we learn from the facilitators, but in what we learn from one another. Members are encouraged to share their experiences, strengths, and successes, contributing insights that help others navigate similar situations.
Whether you're looking for practical solutions, fresh perspectives, or an opportunity to showcase what’s working well in your own organization, Mentorship Moments offer a supportive, collaborative forum where shared learning thrives. Together, we build skills, deepen understanding, and strengthen our professional practice alongside colleagues from across Ontario.
The guiding principles of the PAVRO Mentor Program are to:
- Provide the opportunity for knowledge sharing and consultation in a supportive environment
- Foster meaningful relationships and reduce isolation within the volunteer management
- Encourage the sharing and learning of best practices in volunteer management
- Help build capacity and retention in the profession of volunteer management

| Topic confirmations and Zoom links will be shared with PAVRO members ahead of each session, making it easy to select the conversations that resonate most with your interests—though we’re always delighted when you can join us for as many as possible!
