Call for Presenters for Ottawa Extended!

PAVRO is thrilled to invite dynamic, knowledgeable, and engaging speakers to submit presentation proposals for our upcoming in-person Learning Days this fall in Ottawa, Ontario. These one-day events will bring together professionals passionate about leading and supporting volunteers and volunteer programs.

Speaker Recognition & Honorarium
Selected presenters will receive:

  • An honorarium of $300

  • Complimentary event registration for the day of their presentation

  • Lunch included

  • Recognition on the PAVRO website, with optional access to session content made available to PAVRO members post-event

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking 90-minute presentations + a 30-minute interactive follow-up session that will inspire, educate, and equip volunteer engagement professionals.

Presentation content should be relevant to leaders of volunteers and volunteer program managers. Interactive sessions and real-world case studies are especially welcome.

Suggested Topics Include (but are not limited to):

  • The State of the Sector

  • Advocacy in Action

  • Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Volunteer Programs

  • Supporting Volunteers Through Trauma

  • Emerging Trends in Volunteerism

  • Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in Volunteer Engagement

We encourage creative, inclusive, and thought-provoking proposals that align with PAVRO’s commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, and cultural awareness.

Presenter Requirements
Presenters must provide:

  • A digital copy of their PowerPoint (accessible format)

  • A one-page summary handout with at least one actionable takeaway or tool

  • Willingness to submit materials in advance to support accessibility needs

✅ How to Apply
Please submit a proposal (max. 2 pages) including:

  1. Speaker Bio (50–75 words) – Suitable for event promotion

  2. Session Title & Description – Clear and compelling

  3. Learning Objectives or key messages

  4. Intended Audience – Who would benefit most? (experience level, stream, etc.)

  5. Preferred Presentation Location – Ottawa or London
